D.M. Burton is seeking
a Digital Marketing Intern

to produce compelling visual and written communications. The Digital Marketing Intern is a highly motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for connecting with current and future clients. The strategy will be to build and grow brand awareness and create a positive online reputation for our clients. An essential component is communicating the company’s brand in a positive, authentic way that will attract their ideal customer or client.

The Digital Marketing Intern Responsibilities will include:

✔ Writing, writing, and more writing

  • Blogs
  • Social media copywriting
  • Paid advertising copywriting
  • Website copywriting
  • Email marketing copywriting

✔ Social media graphics creation

✔ Designing and implementing social media campaigns around visual content

✔ Assist with website design and development

✔ Help increase a following on all social media platforms for clients

✔ Work on multiple projects within your workstream and across campaigns to ensure content productions/assets are delivered on time and in full

✔ Communicate with followers, respond to queries promptly by managing messages, and or chats

✔ Help with other general duties as they may arise within the D.M. team

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to apply their skills to create high impact campaigns to serve Oak Park, Chicago, and the surrounding Illinois communities. Your content will be seen by key decision-makers and drive real measurable results, laying a great foundation as a reference for future work in the space. You will be creating content for the client’s social media, website, and other digital spaces and engaging with the audience and community they’ve built or that will be built. Whether you are a graphic designer and love social media, a recent college graduate, currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs, or someone who can build online communities, we’re looking for someone to support our creative team.

Personal Skill Requirements:

✔ Must be proficient in writing copy and grammar skills. This will be a big part of your daily job duties and is a major skill needed

✔ Very good communication skills

✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines

✔ Have self-starter qualities

✔ Confident, professional, and works well under pressure

✔ You must be coachable

✔ Organized and proactive and able to meet the needs of several team members

✔ Multi-tasker with initiative, prioritizing team and personal workload

✔ Extreme attention to detail and making sure everything is ready before sending to clients

✔ Working knowledge of social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter). Google is a plus, but not required

✔ Working knowledge of basic website design

What we offer:

Job Type:

  • Contractor: Part-time with the option to grow into more hours
  • Internship for college credit welcomed

Contract Length:

  • Three months with the option to renew based on performance

Pay:

  • Commensurate to experience

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule to work from home. Chicagoland preferred but open to the midwest for the right candidate

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends will be required at times depending on deadlines and clients
